उद॑ङ्जा॒तो हि॒मव॑तः॒ स प्रा॒च्यां नी॑यसे॒ जन॑म् । तत्र॒ कुष्ठ॑स्य॒ नामा॑न्युत्त॒मानि॒ वि भे॑जिरे ॥ (८)

कूठ हिमालय पर्वत के उत्तरभाग में उत्पन्न हुआ है एवं मनुष्यों के द्वारा पूर्व दिशा में लाया गया है. वहां उस के उत्तम नामों का विभाजन हुआ. (८)
