योगे॑योगे त॒वस्त॑रं॒ वाजे॑वाजे हवामहे । सखा॑य॒ इन्द्र॑मू॒तये॑ ॥ (७)

हम प्रत्येक यज्ञ के आरंभ में एवं अपने यज्ञों में विघ्न डालने वाले विभिन्न संग्रामों में परम शक्तिशाली इंद्र को अपनी रक्षा के लिए उसी प्रकार बुलाते हैं, जिस प्रकार कोई अपने मित्र को बुलाता है. (७)

We call the supremely powerful Indra to protect ourselves at the beginning of each yagna and in the various struggles that interfere with our yajnas in the same way as one calls his friend. (7)
