उषो॒ ये ते॒ प्र यामे॑षु यु॒ञ्जते॒ मनो॑ दा॒नाय॑ सू॒रयः॑ । अत्राह॒ तत्कण्व॑ एषां॒ कण्व॑तमो॒ नाम॑ गृणाति नृ॒णाम् ॥ (४)

हे उषा! तुम्हारा गमन आरंभ होते ही विद्वान्‌ लोग धन आदि के दान में दत्तचित्त हो जाते हैं. परम मेधावी कण्व ऋषि इन दानेच्छु लोगों के नाम उषाकाल में उच्चारण करते हैं. (४)
