दैव्या॒ होता॑रा प्रथ॒मा न्यृ॑ञ्जे स॒प्त पृ॒क्षासः॑ स्व॒धया॑ मदन्ति । ऋ॒तं शंस॑न्त ऋ॒तमित्त आ॑हु॒रनु॑ व्र॒तं व्र॑त॒पा दीध्या॑नाः ॥ (७)

अग्निरूप दोनों होताओं, दिव्य तथा मुख्य को मैं प्रसन्न करता हूं. जल संबंधी मंत्र बोलते हुए अन्नयुक्त सात ऋत्विज्‌ हव्य द्वारा अग्नि को प्रसन्न करते हैं. यज्ञकर्मो के रक्षक एवं दीप्ति वाले ऋत्विज्‌ प्रत्येक यज्ञ में अग्नि से सत्य बात कहते हैं. (७)

I please both the agni form, the divine and the main. By speaking water-related mantras, the seven ritwijs with food grains please the agni through the havya. The protectors of the yajnakarmas and the radiant ritvaijs say the truth to the agni in every yagna. (7)
