जा॒तो जा॑यते सुदिन॒त्वे अह्नां॑ सम॒र्य आ वि॒दथे॒ वर्ध॑मानः । पु॒नन्ति॒ धीरा॑ अ॒पसो॑ मनी॒षा दे॑व॒या विप्र॒ उदि॑यर्ति॒ वाच॑म् ॥ (५)

धरती पर पेड़ के रूप में उत्पन्न यूप मनुष्यों से युक्त यज्ञ में घी आदि से सब प्रकार शोभित होकर दिनों को उत्तम बनाता है. यज्ञकर्म करने वाले मेधावी अध्वर्यु आदि अपनी बुद्धि के अनुसार उसे जल से धोकर शुद्ध करते हैं. देवों को द्रव्य देने वाले मेधावी होता यूप की स्तुति बोलते हैं. (५)
