अच्छा॑ क॒विं नृ॑मणो गा अ॒भिष्टौ॒ स्व॑र्षाता मघव॒न्नाध॑मानम् । ऊ॒तिभि॒स्तमि॑षणो द्यु॒म्नहू॑तौ॒ नि मा॒यावा॒नब्र॑ह्मा॒ दस्यु॑रर्त ॥ (९)

हे धन के स्वामी एवं मनुष्यों द्वारा मान्य इंद्र! तुम कुत्स ऋषि के समीप धन देने की अभिलाषा से गए. कुत्स ने तुमसे प्रार्थना की कि उसके शत्रु से युद्ध करो. तुमने उसे शत्रु के आक्रमण से बचाया एवं कपटी तथा वेदोक्त कर्म से हीन जानकर तुमने कुत्स के शन्रु को युद्ध में मारा. (९)

O Indra, lord of wealth and recognized by human beings! You went to sage Kutsa with the desire to give money. The dog begged you to fight his enemy. You saved him from the attack of the enemy, and you killed the shanru of the dog in battle, being unsavoury and inferior to the deceitful deeds. (9)
