प्र वे॒धसे॑ क॒वये॒ वेद्या॑य॒ गिरं॑ भरे य॒शसे॑ पू॒र्व्याय॑ । घृ॒तप्र॑सत्तो॒ असु॑रः सु॒शेवो॑ रा॒यो ध॒र्ता ध॒रुणो॒ वस्वो॑ अ॒ग्निः ॥ (१)

हम विधाता, क्रांतदर्शी, स्तुति के योग्य, यशस्वी, मुख्य, घृत रूप हवि द्वारा प्रसन्न होने वाले, बलशाली, शोभन सुखयुक्त, धन के पोषक, हव्यवाहक एवं निवासस्थान देने वाले अग्नि के लिए स्तुतियां निर्मित करते हैं. (१)
