इन्द्रमिद्गाथिनो बृहदिन्द्रमर्केभिरर्किणः । इन्द्रं वाणीरनूषत ॥ (५)

सामगान गाते हुए उद्गाता (साम गाने वाले पुरोहित) बृहत्साम गा कर इंद्र को प्रसन्न करते हैं. पूजा करने वाले मनुष्य स्तोत्रों से और हम यजमान मंत्रों के द्वारा उन्हें प्रसन्न करते हैं. (५)

While singing samgan, udgata (priest who sings saam) pleases Indra by singing brihatsam. The worshiping human beings please them with the stotras and we the hosts please them through mantras. (5)
